Where Learning and Paper Come to Life
High Brain Papers is a community-based organization (CBO) officially established on May 15, 2022,, in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, Zone 2. The organization was started by a group of passionate, unemployed youth many of whom had dropped out of school with a shared vision: to provide quality education materials while promoting sustainability and creating employment for marginalized refugees and host communities.
We turn waste paper into handcrafted counter books, blending eco-consciousness with creativity to support education, protect the environment, and foster self-reliance.
We are combining environmental responsibility with social impact, High Brain Papers is building a circular economy within the settlement one that uplifts lives, encourages innovation, and inspires a culture of literacy and resilience among the most underserved. Every book we produce tells a story of hope, purpose, and possibility.
Our Work in Numbers
“When we turn waste paper into books, we’re not just recycling we’re rewriting the future of our community, one page at a time.”
– George Bush, Founder & Director, High Brain Papers
